How Address checker works
This tool tells you whether an email address really exists, without sending it a message. It asks the recipient's server the way a postman would ask whether the letterbox exists, then hangs up before dropping anything off. Handy before sending an invoice to a hand-copied address.
Step by step
- 1 You enter the address to check.
- 2 We look up which server receives mail for that domain.
- 3 We ask it whether the address is accepted, then cut the conversation without sending anything.
- 4 The verdict appears, with how certain it is.
What to put in each field

* The recipient's full address, for example [email protected]. No password is asked for: it is not your mailbox being queried.
Good to know
- No email is sent to the tested address: it will not know it was checked.
- Three possible answers, and the third is an honest one: “exists”, “does not exist”, or “undetermined”. Some servers accept every address on principle, others temporarily refuse strangers: in those cases, we would rather say we don't know than make something up.
