How Mailbox cleaner works
This tool sorts through your mailbox using three criteria you choose: how old messages are, how heavy they are, or who sent them. It starts by showing you what it found, without touching anything. If you approve, the selected messages go to your mail app's own bin — the one you know, where you can still retrieve them.
Step by step
- 1 You enter the mailbox credentials, then your sorting criteria.
- 2 We go through your folders read-only. The bin and drafts are left aside.
- 3 You read the report: how many messages match, how much space they take, and in which folders.
- 4 If you confirm, they are moved to your provider's bin. You empty it yourself when you're sure.
What to put in each field
- Email address and password *
- Older than (months) **
- Heavier than (MB) ***
- Sender contains ****
* Those of the mailbox to sort. An app password is needed with Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo.
** Only keep messages older than this number of months. Leave empty to ignore age.
*** Useful for finding large sends with attachments. Leave empty to ignore size.
**** A fragment of an address or name, for example “newsletter” or “promo.example.com”. Leave empty to ignore the sender.
Good to know
- With no criteria at all, the tool selects nothing whatsoever: you cannot empty your mailbox by accident.
- Nothing is permanently deleted — messages go into your usual bin.
- What you have already thrown away is never fished back out or counted again.
