How Merge & split works
Two uses in one tool. Merging pours the contents of one mailbox into another, so you only have one left to check. Splitting does the opposite: it takes a chosen slice out of a mailbox — by date or by folder — and copies it elsewhere, for example to archive old years on a separate address.
Step by step
- 1 You enter the credentials for the source mailbox and the destination mailbox.
- 2 You choose to copy everything (merge) or only a slice (split), by date or by folder.
- 3 We check both connections and estimate the volume involved.
- 4 You start the copy. The folder tree is recreated on the destination side, and messages already present are not duplicated.

* The one whose messages are copied. It is never modified.
** The one that receives. It keeps everything it already contained.
*** For a split by date: only messages from that period are copied. Leave empty to take everything.
**** For a split by folder: tick the ones you want. With no selection, all are copied.
Good to know
- The source mailbox is never emptied: the tool copies. You delete it yourself, after checking, if you wish.
- Running the operation again does not create duplicates: messages that already arrived are recognised.
